| | Posted : 23 Aug 2012 - 13:37 Post title : Moaning works it seems | | | After my last service it was found that one of my heat shields on my shorties a weld had broken. I know some others have mentioned problems with this somewhere too and the heat shield falling off.
Anyway being old and grouchy I sent a letter to Hinkley custumer care department that went somethig like...
After have my TBird the last three happy years I have had the front forks replaced because of corosion, the chrome covers replaced on the engine block because of corosion and a new mirror replaced because of moisture. I am now informed the weld on the right hand side heat shield has broken which is not only dangerous as it might fly off but makes me wonder what other welds on your bike are sub standard.
Anyway lots more praising the dealer who are good if expensive blah blah. Anyway the dealer phoned today "Triumph have sent us your letter and want us to take a photograph of the weld with a report and they will replace it if the damage is as you say" . Well I didnt say it their engineer did lol so anyway they will replace it as a god will jesture lol . Good will my arse its their shoddy workmanship and QA .
Anyway goes to show moan to the head man and you might get somewhere.

Anyway - will you be getting your soft southern butt upto Triumph live next week. I know it means leaving Essex and t'cumming further t'north - but its a must. A mere 125 miles for you - so that just a quarter of a good days riding.

Triumph and my dealer have been spot on with me - though like you needed a nice letter on my first T'bird. Helps having a lawyer in the family.
Anyway enough of this Essex/Southern hermit like mentality and come and get the micky taken out of ya (like the rest of us) on one of the many jaunts. Will be in the Habour Bar in Portrush tomorrow night (your outlaws are from that neck of the woods right?).

IAC, just had my TV big screen DLP chip replace under warranty after 4 years.
Did they give me a run-around? Did they say, well that could be your eyes? Any grief at all?
No. $700 job, done in 1/2 hr after only 3 biz days waiting for the part.
That's a warranty.

Its gona be very busy in the Habour Bar on friday night mr Nose hehehe. Yes my wife is form there m8 and my outlaws are just up the road from the HB . If you see a blonde bird with a big nose and huge hooters about 46 years old its my wifes sister who can be found in the Harbour Bar every friday night lol.
